Bernd Wieser
Since 1 September 2015, the Centre has been headed by Univ.-Prof. DDr. Dr. h.c. Bernd Wieser. For over 30 years, Prof. Wieser has been engaged in research and teaching on the legal systems of Eastern European countries. His research focuses on constitutional and administrative law, with a geographical emphasis on Russia and Ukraine. He is the editor or co-editor of a number of major works, including the ‘Handbuch der russischen Verfassung’ (Vienna 2014, supplementary volume Vienna 2022) and the ‘Einführung in das ukrainische Recht’ (Munich 2020). Prof. Wieser is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Osteuropa-Recht” and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Uzhhorod.
