2021 International School on Human Rights - IHRSYA, connecting young human rights activists from 6 countries in the post-Soviet space and more

Friday, 03 September 2021

From August 2-10, 2021 the International Human Rights School for young activists from 6 post-Soviet countries and from Serbia took place in Ukraine, at the Educational Human Rights House in Chernigiv.

In cooperation with human rights experts, including those from international organizations, such as the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) and the UN Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU), the School covered, amongst others, topics related to the practical application of human rights protection mechanisms (i.e., the UN system, the European system, the National mechanisms), with the focus on current country-specific current human rights challenges (deriving commonalities).

Inga Zelena, who was initially involved in the organizational process of the offline part of the School at stake, had moderated selected sessions devoted to the voice of the youth, as well as held an optional session concerning the OSCE Moscow Mechanism (August 7, 2021).
