Professor Luchterhandt, an expert on Eastern European law, visits

On 14 May, a guest lecture by Prof. Dr Otto Luchterhandt on the topic of ‘The geopolitical situation in Armenia following the loss of Nagorno-Karabakh’ took place at the Faculty of Law, University of Graz.

On 14 May 2025, a guest lecture by Prof. Dr Otto Luchterhandt on the topic ‘The geopolitical situation in Armenia following the loss of Nagorno-Karabakh’ at the Faculty of Law, University of Graz, which was open to doctoral students and other interested parties.

This academic event was organised by the Centre for Eastern European Law (ZOR) and the Institute for Public Law and Political Science at the University of Graz as part of the doctoral colloquium ‘Public Law and Political Science’. The opening address was delivered by Associate Professor Dr iur. Benedikt Harzl, MA, Deputy Director of the ZOR.

The guest lecture was followed by a lively discussion, during which the students had the opportunity to ask questions on this topical, interdisciplinary and complex subject.

The textbook *General Administrative Law*, published in 2026 and edited by Prof. Bernd Wieser and the Ukrainian professors Yaroslav Lazur, Tetyana Karabin and Oleksandr Bilash, was awarded first place in the ‘Textbook on Public Law’ category at the 4th International Competition for Academic Publications, held under the title “Jurydyka”, in the category “Textbook on Public Law”.
