ELEVATE
ELEVATE stands for E-Learning Variations for Transition Economies. With the ELEVATE project, the CEELES at the University of Graz (Austria) together with partners in Kazakhstan (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty and Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University) and Kyrgyztan (National Academy of Sciences, Osh Technological University) sought to contribute to the rule-of-law education in Central Asia. With this project, CEELES aimed to contribute to the EU Strategy for Central Asia of 2007, which placed emphasis on the region of Central Asia as an important partner region for the EU and entailed two key elements: "EU rule of law initiative" and "European education initiative". ELEVATE was created to combine the two approaches in providing rule-of-law teaching to a number of actors in the Central Asian judicial systems: institutions of higher education and practitioners in the legislative branch.
